Maybe we ordered a wrong dishes, however, didn’t really like the sauce both dishes were soaked in.
Sesame beef and eggplant and garlic sauce. We’re just covered in this distinct taste sauce that changed the flavor of the dish. Beef tasted like it was deep-fried prior to sauced.
Had to wait for the service as the place was backed on Sunday around 5 PM. By the time we got the dishes, our two year old has drained our brain. The interior of the place is a bit of the older style. Especially that restroom. Blue sign shining in the dining area.
Prices are at the higher end. The meal for two turned out to be over $70. We might give this place another try, but not in the near future.
Tried this place out from a tip. Place was clean, busy and bustling. Great little dim sum place. Food seemed fresh and made to order. Saw a crab dish I wish I ordered, but there is always next time which I see in the near future.
This restaurant is run by a family that truly cares about the food they serve and the establishment they operate. The dim sum here is legit and quite good. The shiu mai, the har gow, the rice noodle rolls, and the pork knuckle here are great. If you love baked buns, get the baked BBQ pork buns, the baked ube buns, and the baked custard buns. The dishes beyond the dim sum menu are authentic Cantonese and great here as well.
I finally got a chance to check this place out. I have a friend that lives out in Oakley and will travel to Walnut Creek for this place. I now see why he does. My son and I came a little after 5. Not a lot of people, and of course that was preferred on my end. We ordered the basics. I wanted to get a feel of the flavors and portions, since it’s my first time. Everything hit the spot. The portions and size was perfect. The service was attentive. Food was delicious. Fresh, everything came out hot. Right out of the steamer/fryer. 6 items plus tea was just under $50. Not bad. When I paid I told them that we will be back and that my son loved their food. I never tell any restaurant that I’ll be back. But this place, I’m coming back. If you’re in the area, please check them out. Great mom and pop shop. Will start supporting their business. Great feel.
Finally satisfied my cravings for dim sum after a long time. This place hits the spot. Service was fast but be prepared for a wait time on a weekend. My husband and I waited for about 20 minutes before being seated so it wasn’t too bad. Will surely come back for more dim sum galore!
I ate dim sum for the first time at Creek house yesterday and felt in love with them! So yummy!!
I've known the owner since their first restaurant in Concord, and posted a 5-star review since he made the best Cantonese cuisine I've tasted in the East Bay but not sure what happened recently to this branch, change of cook/manager, maybe? Dim sum is available all day long now, although mediocre. We were there for dinner and ordered fresh peashoots with garlic, fried whole sole with dipoing sauce and braised pork belly with pickled greens梅菜扣肉. Everything was delicious but the pork belly would've been better with less lean meat, which caused the pork to be a bit dry. Still enjoyed the dinner and will be back.
We got our order for take out at 2pm on a holiday. Creek House was not only open but also welcoming. We ordered Shanghai Pork soup dumplings, steamed BBQ pork buns, Pot stickers, Chinese broccoli with oyster sauce and the Fried Sesame balls. All were delicious and I would go back to have them and try more.
